Haridwar-Rishikesh Tour

Day 1 — Delhi to Haridwar: Gateway to the Gods

Departure at 5:00 AM from Delhi (Kashmere Gate / Majnu ka Tilla / Anand Vihar) by AC Traveller Bus / Private Car.
Breakfast halt at 8:00 AM near Muzzafarnagar or Roorkee — paratha, omelette, and chai at a highway dhaba.
Arrive Haridwar by 10:30 AM. Check into hotel near Har Ki Pauri Ghat.
Freshen up and head out for the first glimpse of the holy Ganga.
Visit Har Ki Pauri — the most sacred ghat in Haridwar where the Ganga is believed to touch the footprint of Lord Vishnu. Take a holy dip if desired.
Visit Mansa Devi Temple via cable car — perched on Bilwa Parvat hill with panoramic views of Haridwar and the Ganga.
Visit Chandi Devi Temple — another hilltop temple accessible by cable car or a scenic trek, dedicated to Goddess Chandi.
Evening — attend the magnificent Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri at sunset. One of the most spiritually overwhelming experiences in India — thousands of diyas floating on the holy river.
Dinner at hotel. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 2 — Haridwar Full Day: Temples, Ashrams & Holy Ghats

Early morning 5:00 AM — attend the sunrise Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Serene, quiet, and deeply moving.
Breakfast at hotel, followed by a full day of Haridwar sightseeing.
Visit Maya Devi Temple — one of the Shakti Peethas and the presiding deity of Haridwar, believed to be where the heart and navel of Goddess Sati fell.
Visit Daksha Mahadev Temple at Kankhal — one of the oldest Shiva temples in Haridwar, linked to the great Daksha Yagna story from Hindu mythology.
Visit Sapt Rishi Ashram (Sapt Sarovar) — where the Ganga splits into seven streams around seven great sages. Peaceful and scenic.
Lunch at a local vegetarian restaurant — Haridwar is a pure vegetarian city, known for its sattvic food and famous kachori sabzi.
Visit Shantikunj Ashram and Bharat Mata Mandir — a unique multi-storeyed temple dedicated to Mother India with maps, images, and tributes to national heroes on every floor.
Visit Patanjali Yogpeeth — the world-famous yoga and Ayurveda institution founded by Baba Ramdev. Visit the museum and shop for authentic herbal products.
Evening — second Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Buy diyas, flower offerings, and prasad from the ghat market.
Dinner at hotel. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 3 — Haridwar to Rishikesh: Adventure Meets Spirituality

Breakfast at hotel and checkout by 9:00 AM. Drive to Rishikesh (approx. 24 km, 45 minutes).
Check into hotel / camp near the Ganga in Rishikesh — Laxman Jhula or Tapovan area.
Visit Laxman Jhula — the iconic suspension bridge over the Ganga, linking Tapovan and Jonk. The views of the river from the bridge are stunning.
Visit Ram Jhula (Shivananda Jhula) — another beloved suspension bridge with the Ganga flowing swiftly beneath.
Visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram — one of the largest ashrams in Rishikesh on the banks of the Ganga. Attend yoga and meditation sessions if available.
Lunch at one of the famous cafés on the Laxman Jhula strip — Beatles Café, Chotiwala, or Little Buddha Café.
Post lunch adventure activity — White Water River Rafting on the Ganga (16 km stretch from Shivpuri to Rishikesh — Grade 2 & 3 rapids, suitable for beginners and families). One of the best rafting experiences in India.
Evening — attend the Parmarth Niketan Ganga Aarti on the ghats. More intimate and spiritually rich compared to Haridwar — accompanied by devotional music and chanting.
Dinner at hotel / camp. Overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 4 — Rishikesh Full Day: Yoga, Temples & Nature

Early morning optional Yoga & Meditation session at the hotel or a local ashram — Rishikesh is the Yoga Capital of the World, and a morning session here is truly transformative.
Breakfast, then depart for the day’s sightseeing.
Visit Neelkanth Mahadev Temple (approx. 32 km from Rishikesh) — a highly revered Shiva temple set deep in the forest at 1330 m altitude. This is where Lord Shiva is said to have consumed the poison Halahala. Scenic drive through dense jungle.
Lunch near Neelkanth Temple area — fresh mountain food at a local eatery.
Return to Rishikesh. Visit Trayambakeshwar Temple — a 13-storeyed temple near Ram Jhula with shrines dedicated to different Hindu deities on each floor.
Optional adventure activities in the afternoon — Bungee Jumping at Jumpin Heights (83 m — highest in India), Giant Swing, Flying Fox, or a Camping night on the Ganga banks (available as an add-on).
Visit the Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia / Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram) — where the Beatles famously stayed in 1968 and composed many songs. Now an open heritage site with beautiful wall murals.
Evening free time at the Laxman Jhula market — shop for rudraksha malas, crystal jewelry, Ayurvedic oils, yoga mats, and spiritual books.
Dinner at hotel. Overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 5 — Rishikesh to Delhi: The Sacred Journey Ends

5:30 AM — Optional final Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat — the largest ghat in Rishikesh and most popular for the morning aarti. A peaceful and powerful farewell to the Ganga.
Breakfast at hotel and checkout by 7:30 AM.
Board the Sidhu Tour & Travel AC Bus / Car by 8:00 AM for the return journey to Delhi.
Brief stop at Roorkee — visit IIT Roorkee campus (India’s oldest technical institution, est. 1847) for a quick heritage walk, or simply rest at a café nearby.
Lunch halt at 1:00 PM near Muzzafarnagar or Meerut at a well-known highway restaurant.
Arrive Delhi at designated drop points (Kashmere Gate / Anand Vihar / Karol Bagh) by 6:00 PM.
Trip concludes with the sacred sound of the Ganga still ringing in your ears and peace in your soul. Har Har Gange! 🙏
